LDA on a Mission to Retrieve Grabbed Lands

Lahore Development Authority seems to be on a mission these days as they are bent on retrieving grabbed lands and completing the unfinished projects in time. The latest of the events was in Shadman, Lahore where a land allocated for a charity hospital had been grabbed for about 25 years. The land was allocated for the hospital in 1988 but unfortunately the land has been in use of some commercial businesses and thus the hospital never came into being.

LDA had not paid heed to look into the matter in the past years which helped the land-grabbers to continue with their businesses, however, this time it was not so as the Director Estate Management, Mr. M. Noman Khan along with the Director Enforcement, Mr. Kh. Javed Aslam himself stage-managed the operation when the illegal car showroom was demolished by the LDA employees on the grabbed-land.

The approval for building the three-storey hospital had been issued by the Lahore Development Authority long time ago in 1989 and even the PTM (Permission To Mortgage) had also been issued so that the resources for constructing the hospital could be begotten yet the issue was never taken up until this recent resolve in the LDA to correct whatever has gone wrong in the past years took place.
